The inspiration behind Leading Agents of the World
The creation of the network is the brainchild of Jo-Anne Oliveri.
Hailing from Queensland, Australia, Jo-Anne has been involved in the
real estate industry for over 10 years and is always striving to
improve service delivery and generate innovative ideas to offer her
clients. The result of this continual strive for excellence in the
industry has seen Jo-Anne win several high distinction awards, and one
of those awards lead her to the International Real Estate Convention in
Orlando, Florida in November 2004.
A combination of meeting fellow international agents, past industry
experience and experience of networks Jo-Anne had long been involved
in, lead her to the creation of Leading Agents of the World.

Why the network was launched
Jo-Anne´s goal in establishing the network is to provide an
association of individual real estate agents who are not only
passionate about their professions, but are prepared to step outside
the box and offer service on a global level, not ever seen in this
industry before. A service that can only be described as cutting edge
with high customer focus and attention to detail.
An appointment as a Property Director in a Financial Services
company gave Jo-Anne insight into what the general public and majority
of investors are looking for in securing their own financial futures.
They want property. Property is something that they understand and once
they have invested in a property they are more likely to keep it, as
shares and managed funds are all too easy to cash in when cash flow is
tight. However, the frustrating fact of investing in property is the
boom and bust markets.

Emerging global property trends
As Jo-Anne began to understand global economy and boom and bust
markets, she saw a pattern emerging. We all understand the boom and
bust cycle but it doesn´t occur at the same time all over the world.
Whilst one continent of the world is experiencing a slow market, other
continents are experiencing either balanced or heated markets. People
want to invest in property, but the fluctuating markets make it
difficult to increase property portfolios with a degree of confidence.
To add to all this uncertainty and confusion, Financial Planners
heavily promote and advise their clients to purchase shares and managed
funds because they receive larger commissions and ongoing bonus
payments. Financial Planners as a rule do not receive commission on
property, a fact very few investors are privy too.

Breaking down the borders
Aside from having the opportunity to increase property investment
portfolio, the world community moves internationally and relocates to
different countries on a regular basis. Jo-Anne was not satisfied in
just offering a standard property management service when she initially
entered the real estate industry. She saw an opportunity to add value
to her service by establishing a relocation service as she saw another
emerging pattern of international companies regularly transferring
their staff around the world. Whilst Relocation Agents are an industry
within themselves, they do not have the experience and skill from
working within the property industry to really understand what the
client requires in the property that they can call ´home´.
